doily banner

Bunting and banners are very popular trends right now, and they’re great for adding whimsical, fun, and/or feminine touches to any room or party. I saw several ideas on Pinterest using different mediums. One of my favorites used old handkerchiefs, so I immediately started gathering ones I had and collecting others. I found some, but there weren’t enough to fill the space that I needed. As I was organizing my office/studio, my pile of doilies grew larger and larger, and I thought they would be a great alternative for my banner.

Most of these doilies were given to me by my grandma. She made the majority of them, but some of them were given to her. As I look at the banner, I think of all of the work and detail that went into each and every one of the doilies, and I cherish them.

The great thing about banners is that you can use just about anything to create a custom look for your room or party. If you don’t have doilies, you could use scarves, fabric napkins, fabric pieces, paper, and the list goes on. Be creative, and have fun!

Photographic Memories Session

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about the images I'm getting ready to share with you! This rental business has opened up so many new doors, and I feel incredibly blessed to have been able to meet and work with the most talented vendors in Oklahoma.

I first saw Photographic Memories at Affair of the Heart a few years ago and immediately fell in love with the artistry of their photography. Photographic Memories is a mother and daughter team, Tammy and Megan, and they have such a unique and special eye for images. Because their work is so amazing, I was completely elated when Megan approached me about setting up a shoot with vintage rentals.

Tammy and Megan came to our home, shopped through the rentals, and created the cutest set-up with the books, clocks, and duck decoy. The lighting in these images are so perfect and soft, and I can't wait to get prints and frame them in our new home. (We're moving in two weeks!)

Our photo shoot couldn't have been scheduled at a better time because Austin and I celebrated our five year dating anniversary just the day before. We spent our anniversary doing special things that we both love. We first stopped at Pop's along Route 66 in Arcadia, picking out special bottles of soda for our photo shoot and two to enjoy along our mini road trip. We ate lunch at Ron's Hamburger's and Chili (Thank you, Groupon!), went to see Fiddler on the Roof (our favorite musical), and enjoyed a Cinco de Mayo dinner on a patio downtown.

I cannot thank Tammy and Megan enough for all of their hard work with the photo shoot and images along with their patience with me. They were such a delight to work with, and they weren't afraid to get hot and sweaty. I, on the other hand, was quite the baby, and I'm sure I wasn't as pleasant to be around.

You can view more pictures of our session on their blog post about the shoot, but please go check out more of Photographic Memories' work on their website and their Facebook page as well. You will find an abundance of talent and inspiration, and you won't be disappointed!

Thank you again, Tammy and Megan! It was an absolute honor!

rentals - inventory images

I received some of my rental inventory images last week from my fabulous photographer, Chera at Bluebird Photography, and I'm so excited to share my favorites with you! Chera is an amazing newborn and child photographer, and you have to check her out on her Facebook page and her blog! I feel extremely blessed to be partnered with this businesswoman; she is one of the sweetest and most talented individuals I've ever met.

I'll be posting more images as I get them, but I'm hoping to get the new website up and running within the next month or so. Have a super day!

rentals - orchard engagement

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend! I have been busily preparing for Red Barn Boutique (which is this weekend). I have to admit that it snuck up on me, but I can't wait until Thursday night! It's one big party with girlfriends, music, food, and lots of junk. If you are in the Stillwater area this weekend, please come by and introduce yourself. I would love to meet you!

I've also been keeping busy with the rentals side of Our Vintage Love. I just got images back from the photographer for a good portion of the rentals, and I'll be posting a sneak peek soon. In the meantime, I want to share this precious engagement shoot using Our Vintage Love rentals. I was so excited when Kristine and Scott from blue elephant photography asked to rent some pieces for an orchard engagement shoot! They told me exactly what they were looking for, and voila! They created this adorably fun set.

You can view more images over here if you are as in love with this shoot as I am. Make sure to check out their Facebook page; they are constantly posting great inspiration.

events - hello lovely

I cannot tell you what a great time I had at the Hello Lovely Bridal Fair a few weekends ago! These girls did such an amazing job coordinating this event, and I'm in awe of their creativity and hard work. I offered to bring some of my vintage rental items if they were in need, so I packed up my husband's truck and went on my merry way to this super sweet event that was loved by all. Hannah Ekblad's mom, Nancy Chinworth took some great shots, and I've been given her permission to share. Here are some styled shots of a few items that I brought.

Here are the proud founders of Hello Lovely just before the show opened! They all put so much energy and effort into providing a unique show and experience for brides, and it is sure to grow within the coming years.

HL girls, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this stellar show, and thank you, Nancy, for allowing me to blog your pictures! You all are wonderful!

vintage love - spring

The weather in Oklahoma has been teasing me and getting me anxious to be in the garden. I have big plans for my garden this year, and I'm putting together an extensive list of flowers and vegetables. As you have most likely gathered, I love pastels, so spring and its colors are very special to me. I look forward to waking up to the singing birds, watching everything turn green, and driving around with the windows down. Happy spring!

wedding - magazine feature

Did I ever show you our Brides of Oklahoma magazine feature?

I met with my first rentals client today who is planning her friend's wedding in May. I had such a great time creating and designing a little setup for our meeting.

Here are a few pictures that I snapped quickly.
